Practical guide
Can scheduled Gmail emails send with my computer off?
Yes. Once Gmail has saved a scheduled email, Google can send it even if your computer is off or your device is offline. SwitchOff also runs in the cloud: it schedules and sends your Gmail marketing emails and follow-ups through active Journeys, without keeping your browser open.

Does scheduled email need internet?
You need an internet connection to create and save the schedule in Gmail or SwitchOff. Once it is saved and, for SwitchOff, the Journey is active, your own device does not need to stay online. Google or SwitchOff handles the scheduled work on its servers; an unsaved offline draft is not a confirmed scheduled email.
Scheduled delivery is not a promise of an exact arrival time. Gmail account limits, service availability and—in SwitchOff—your sending window, hourly limit and other queued work still matter.
Gmail Schedule send or an automated SwitchOff Journey?
Gmail’s built-in Schedule send is useful for an individual message you want to send later. It does not require your laptop to stay on after the schedule has been saved. Google’s Schedule send guide explains how to set it up.
SwitchOff is for a sequence of marketing emails and follow-ups. Set up your Journey, assign contacts and choose your sending schedule. The active Journey continues in the cloud, using your connected Gmail account for sending.

What happens after I close my laptop?
Your contacts and Journey schedule remain in SwitchOff. When an email becomes eligible under its timing, sending-window and hourly-limit rules, SwitchOff handles it through the Gmail account you connected. Your browser does not have to remain open.
Do replies still come to Gmail?
Yes. Because SwitchOff sends through your connected Gmail account, replies follow your normal inbox workflow. You can return to the conversation in the place you already manage business email.
What still needs your attention?
You remain responsible for creating appropriate content, using suitable contact data, monitoring replies and following Gmail’s policies and applicable marketing rules. Cloud scheduling removes the need to babysit the timer; it does not remove those responsibilities or guarantee delivery.
